SOM-Batec

Cortex-A7 + RISC-V · 1 TOPS NPU · Vision-grade AI edge module

The SOM-Batec combines a 32-bit Cortex-A7 application core with a dedicated RISC-V real-time companion core and a 1 TOPS neural processing unit on a single 22 nm SoC — purpose-built for intelligent vision at the edge. Onboard dual MIPI CSI inputs, a 5 MP ISP, hardware video encoding, integrated GbE, dual-band Wi-Fi and NB-IoT make it a self-contained platform for AI-enabled cameras, smart access control, industrial vision systems and connected IoT gateways. The SMARC form factor and −40 °C to +85 °C rating ensure seamless integration into rugged carrier boards.

Key features

Why choose the SOM-Batec

1 TOPS onboard NPU

Run TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch and ONNX models locally without cloud dependency. Enough headroom for face recognition, object detection and defect inspection at frame rate — all within a low-power, fanless envelope.

Dual-core heterogeneous architecture

The 32-bit Cortex-A7 hosts Linux for the application stack while the RISC-V E907 companion core handles deterministic real-time tasks — GPIO monitoring, protocol bridging or safety watchdogs — independently of the OS.

Dual MIPI CSI + 5 MP ISP

Two MIPI CSI-2 inputs feed a hardware ISP with 3A (auto-exposure, auto-white-balance, auto-focus), wide-dynamic-range, 2D/3D noise reduction and tone mapping. Capture and process two simultaneous camera streams without CPU overhead.

H.265 / H.264 hardware video engine

Encode 5 MP streams in H.265 or H.264 in hardware at up to 25 fps, plus MJPEG at 1080p 60 fps. Ideal for IP cameras, video analytics pipelines and local recording appliances.

Tri-mode wireless connectivity

Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 / 5 GHz) for local network integration combined with NB-IoT for wide-area, low-power cellular backhaul — covering both campus and remote deployment scenarios from a single module.

Industrial-grade reliability

22 nm process delivers best-in-class performance-per-watt for extended-temperature operation from −40 °C to +85 °C. The SMARC 2.1 form factor and longevity commitment make it suitable for 10-year product lifecycles.
